Loved everything. Excellent value for money, friendly staff, wonderful room, high quality throughout. Thanks again, sure I'll be back.

The perfect anniversary dinner. We called to reserve and luckily a table was available - only about 8-10 tables in the whole restaurant so you get a very personal service.
Reception staff in hotel were friendly and professional, showing us to equally fantastic restaurant hostess, who was Spanish. She was attentive without being intrusive, and couldn't do enough for us.
Beautiful venue lit with candles, a small menu done well, and generous portions which is unusual for 'a la carte'. We couldn't manage a dessert!
Parking is tricky but we used a local Council car park which was free after 6pm, so it was no trouble. Beautiful bread, 2 starters, a soft drink, 2 beers and 2 mains was in the region of £60, so great value for an AA rosette award experience. Highly recommended.

As the father of the bride, I was nervous about the wedding, but with the Elephant's team at the helm, I needn't have worried. They organised the wedding brilliantly, liaising with my daughter to meet her exacting requirements. The food was great and the service unobtrusive but very responsive. The evening disco was wonderful and the hotel coped really well with the very merry guests! A huge thank you to all of the staff at the Elephant for their brilliant work!

The hotel was amazing, we arrived late, they took care or everything including our parking. As there was no space the receptionist took our keys and dealt with the parking. Around 15 mins from reading but lovely location. Not much to do but train station is 5 mins away, so you can travel into central. Room was amazing and extremely clean. Room service was fantastic. Cannot WAIT to go back there!!

We have just returned from a nights stay and dinner at The Elephant, superb. Our room was excellent, super comfy bed with beautiful linen and plug sockets by the mirror, hooray! All the staff we met were friendly, efficient and happy. We ate dinner in the restaurant, the menu was interesting, a good mix of traditional and contemporary. I had the venison, it was cooked perfectly as was the pork my husband and son chose. Three of us had two bottles of wine, pre-dinner drinks, 3 courses each, tea and liqueur coffees for £130.00, this is outstanding value for the quality and service we received. We now have a son living in Pangbourne and a good excuse to become regular visitors to this little gem, looking forward to our next visit!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at the Elephant. We wanted somewhere in the country but close to London and close to a station. Pangbourne fits the bill as the countryside is beautiful but only 45 mins from Paddington. The Elephant is 3 minutes walk from the station.
I was a little wary of the hotel as 'boutique hotels' often seem to be just b&bs with some Farrow and Ball French Grey paint daubed over the woodchip wallpaper, but this wasn't the case. The staff were welcoming and friendly, particularly the Spanish waitress who served us our dinner. The decor/theme is Anglo-Indian, lots of teak, rattan, persian rugs etc, and a nice open fire in the lobby. The room (the 'Rangoon' room) was very cosy.
The public bar had a nice village pub feel with good ales on tap, and a heated outdoor smoking area was available. The dinner was very good quality though surprisingly for an Anglo-Indian hotel there didn't seem to be any curry on the menu as far as I could tell. Breakfast was also very good with a wide choice. I would definitely stay again and have already recommended the hotel to friends.

We spent a night away at this lovely hotel and couldnt be happier. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food and wine excellent and our room lovely. We chose to eat in the bar and found the food very reasonably priced and the burger was first class. We will be back!
Room Tip: They gave us room 16 as my husband is tall-the bed was enormous!

I booked this hotel purely on location, as I had a local business meeting to attend the following day, but wow what a find! The staff were first class, the model of what excellent customer service should be. The reception staff were helpful, and the bar staff / night porter were excellent, wish every hotel had staff like that. The hotel itself was good - space to park, comfortable bed, quiet rooms, decent shower, nice fluffy towels, prompt breakfast, efficient checkout. Highly recommended.

We only stayed a night but wow what a night... the rooms are all different and have a theme. The bed was very comy and the shower was a 10/10 best shower we have had in a hotel, large fluffy towels also. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was amazing....a good choice of wines as well, so nice we had 2 bottles! Breakfast was plentiful and very well cooked and presented. The staff are happy and can not do enough for you.
